A five-woman-led batucada performing Brazilian rhythms for weddings, carnivals and corporate events.
Elas is a five-piece batucada, made up mostly of women, combining percussion, dance and a strong sense of rhythm. The live format brings music and movement to weddings, carnivals, parades, company parties and private celebrations.
The group performs Brazilian rhythms arranged and created by master musician Lilly Pita from Salvador, Bahia. Its repertoire includes samba-reggae, samba-enredo, bajón, funky and merengue. Percussive energy and dance sit at the heart of the show.
Elas has experience performing at Ibizan-style and other weddings, as well as carnivals and a range of events. Previous appearances include Isla Mágica, the Tarifa African Film Festival, the Nations Fair and the Mujeres y Música festival.
