Flamenquia is a flamenco fusion trio built around the piano of Antonio Tornel, who also composes the group’s music. He is joined by Ginés Martínez on flute and Pepe Abellán on percussion. Their show, «Por tierras del sur… vientos de cambio», traces a musical journey through influences and melodies associated with the cultures that have shaped the Iberian Peninsula.
The performance can move between the full trio, duets and solo pieces, giving the set a changing texture. Guest artists may join on special occasions. A piano is recommended but not essential; the technical setup calls for a sound system with a full backline.
Flamenco remains at the heart of the repertoire, alongside touches of classical, Arabic and jazz music. The programme includes malagueñas, fandangos, taranta, tangos and bulerías, as well as pieces such as «El puente de Triana», «Alhambra» and «Vientos de cambio».
Its adaptable line-up makes Flamenquia a live music option for weddings, town festivals, cultural programmes and private events looking for a flamenco sound with varied instrumentation.
