What makes a verbena orchestra different?
The verbena orchestra is the big-stage format of Spanish popular festivities: 8 to 16 musicians, singers and dancers on their own stage, with sound and lighting production designed for squares and open-air venues. Unlike a standard covers band, the orchestra delivers a continuous show lasting several hours, with costume changes, choreography and a repertoire that runs from pasodobles to the summer's hits.
When to book an orchestra
It is the star format of town festivities, neighbourhood verbenas, fairs and New Year's Eve parties. Town councils and festivity committees usually lock in the strong dates six months or more ahead, especially between June and September, when the best line-ups sell out their calendar.
