- An ensemble that performs popular songs by other artists; when it focuses on imitating a specific band or artist it is known as a tribute band.
What a covers band is and what it offers
A covers band performs other artists' hits live, usually organised by decade or style: Spanish pop-rock, 80s and 90s classics, disco or current chart hits. It is the most flexible live format: it works just as well at a wedding as at a corporate party or a small verbena, and it scales in size from an acoustic trio to a full band with horns.
Covers band or orchestra: how to choose
The difference with the verbena orchestra is scale: the orchestra is a large-format show with dancers and its own production; the covers band prioritises repertoire and closeness, travelling with lighter production, which makes it more affordable and easier to fit into medium venues.
