Asturian folk, electronic beats, cabaret and social commentary meet in Rodrigo Cuevas’s multidisciplinary live show.
We are a booking agency for events, not the artist's team. We work with organisers: festivals, councils, companies, venues and weddings.
Asturian artist Rodrigo Cuevas brings music and theatrical flair together, drawing on rural traditions and cabaret. His work pairs folk roots with electronic sounds, humour, sensuality and social commentary. For event organisers looking to present traditional music in a contemporary setting, his multidisciplinary show offers a distinctive option.
Cuevas trained in piano and tuba and studied sonology. His interests in world music, circus and cabaret also shape his stage language. Rural-inspired clothing meets cabaret and pin-up references, while electronic backing sits alongside traditional musical elements.
His first release, Yo soy la maga (2012), reworked traditional Galician songs. Prince of Verdicio followed in 2016, beginning his blend of Asturian music and modern sounds. Produced by Refree, Manual de Cortejo (2019) earned recognition from music critics. In 2023, he released Manual de Romería and received Spain’s National Award for Contemporary Music.
The show can suit festivals, town celebrations, cultural programmes and private events seeking a musical performance rooted in folklore with a contemporary outlook.
