Afro-Brazilian percussion, batucada and brass-led street music in three line-ups for celebrations and events.
We are a booking agency for events, not the artist's team. We work with organisers: festivals, councils, companies, venues and weddings.
La Barné Batuqué brings Afro-Brazilian percussion to street performances and celebrations. The project began in Barcelona’s Barceloneta neighbourhood and has built up 17 years of experience, with more than 800 performances. Its sound draws on Brazilian, Uruguayan, African and Latin rhythms.
There are three formats to choose from. The batucada features 10 to 14 percussionists. Barné Xarangué brings together 20 to 21 performers, combining percussion with brass for carnival and party tunes. For a more compact option at weddings or private gatherings, Barné Batuqué Slim has seven or eight percussionists.
The percussion set can run for up to three hours without repeating material, while the brass band repertoire includes more than 100 songs. The group does not require technical equipment to perform, but does need a designated space to use as a changing room.
The batucada and brass line-up work well for town festivals, street parades, celebrations and corporate events. The Slim format is intended for weddings and smaller private events. Past appearances include Teatre Liceu, Palau Sant Jordi, PortAventura and the opening of the Snowboard World Championships.
