El Kanka blends rumba, rap, blues and more with upbeat songwriting and a five-album solo career.
We are a booking agency for events, not the artist's team. We work with organisers: festivals, councils, companies, venues and weddings.
El Kanka is the musical project of Málaga-born singer-songwriter Juan Gómez Canca. His songs pair optimistic lyrics with a broad mix of rhythms, making the act a consideration for town festivals, weddings, corporate functions and private celebrations looking for distinctive Spanish songwriting.
Rumba, rap, blues, reggae, cumbia and chacarera all feature in his music. The blend gives the songs shifts in rhythm and a warm, upbeat character. His solo career began with the 2013 album Lo mal que estoy y lo poco que me quejo; his discography includes five albums.
Well-known songs include “Canela en rama”, “Qué bello es vivir”, “Vengas cuando vengas”, “Andalucía”, “Por tu olor” and “Para quedarte”. Before going solo, El Kanka played in Doctor Desastre, later renamed T de Trapo. He has performed at festivals and concert venues and presented his music in Colombia.
The mix of singer-songwriter material and popular rhythms may suit a varied festival audience as well as a wedding or private event. Share details of your occasion and venue with Vibra to discuss whether the act fits your plans.
