Bongo Band is a charanga with more than thirty members, bringing together live music, theatre and dance. The show can take place in the street, an auditorium or other settings, with an approach that invites the audience to join the party.
The band plays marches, pasodobles, pop-rock, Latin music, jazz and swing. Its formats include street parades and concerts, as well as weddings, communions, farewell parties and Moros y Cristianos festivities. Sound and lighting are available for live performances.
Bongo Band has taken part in national charanga events. Its results include first prize at the 2017 National Charanga Competition in Cehegín and fourth place as a finalist in the 2018 competition in Escucha. In 2018, it also represented the Valencian Community at the Poza de la Sal festival. Miguel Calero directs the ensemble and arranges music alongside Víctor Pérez.
The large line-up and party repertoire make Bongo Band a potential fit for local festivals, street parades, weddings and other public celebrations. The group also performs at Moros y Cristianos festivities in the Valencian Community and neighbouring areas.
