Batala Badajoz brings Brazilian samba-reggae rhythms and percussion to parades, parties and celebrations.
We are a booking agency for events, not the artist's team. We work with organisers: festivals, councils, companies, venues and weddings.
Batala Badajoz is a Brazilian percussion group performing samba-reggae with a large ensemble of drums. It belongs to Batalá Mundo, an international project bringing together more than 40 bands. Its rhythms were created by Giba Gonçalves, the project’s founder, as part of a wider effort to share the Afro-Brazilian culture of Salvador da Bahia.
The group uses instruments including fundos, repeniques, caixas and dobras. With more than 60 percussionists and over 50 rhythms, it can adapt the performance to different spaces and durations, as well as to a range of celebrations. Brazilian samba-reggae provides the musical thread throughout.
The format works well for local fiestas, processions, parades and celebrations looking for a high-energy percussion performance. Batala Badajoz has appeared at events including the Baku and Bahrain Formula 1 Grands Prix, Mexico’s Grand Day of the Dead Parade and the Notting Hill Carnival. Its percussionists bring years of experience to the performance.
The fee depends on the date, location, format and the event’s technical requirements. Send Vibra the details of your celebration to request a no-obligation quote within 24 hours. No specific technical requirements are listed for the group.
