Ara Malikian brings together violin with Arabic, Middle Eastern, flamenco, classical and rock influences.
We are a booking agency for events, not the artist's team. We work with organisers: festivals, councils, companies, venues and weddings.
Ara Malikian is a violinist and composer whose Armenian family background and Lebanese roots inform a musical outlook shaped by many traditions. His studies took him to Hannover and London, and his work spans symphony orchestras, chamber ensembles and collaborations with flamenco singers and dancers, guitarists and rock musicians.
His music draws on Arabic and Middle Eastern sounds, flamenco, classical music, pop and rock. The repertoire includes original compositions alongside pieces associated with a wide range of artists. Examples listed include “Vals del Kairo”, Led Zeppelin’s “Kashmir”, “Misirlou”, Paco de Lucía’s “Zyryab”, an aria by Bach, David Bowie’s “Life on Mars” and Manuel de Falla’s “La vida breve”.
Malikian has performed with symphony orchestras in Bamberg, Madrid and Tokyo, as well as chamber groups and artists from different genres. His recorded work includes 30 albums and contributions to eight more. He has also composed music for eight films and received a Goya for “Hable con ella”.
His violin-led show may suit weddings, private celebrations, corporate events and cultural programmes looking for an instrumental performance with a distinctive mix of influences. The venue, format and technical requirements help determine the right arrangement for each event.
