A Valls-born samba percussion group for street processions, private parties, weddings and events, with roaming and close-up formats.
Vallsamba Companyia de Percussió brings live percussion into the crowd. Founded in Valls, Tarragona, in 2002, the group began as an Afro-Cuban music ensemble before adopting the percussion setup associated with Brazilian samba schools. Its musicians play on the move, taking the music from the stage into the street and among the audience.
The company can perform as a street procession, encouraging people to dance along, or in a smaller format for private celebrations and settings where a more personal approach suits the occasion. For animation events, the group can finish its moving performance on stage, keeping the music going without a break.
Its past appearances include Rototom, Etnival, The End of the World, Reggus, Solsticidi, La Mercè and Santa Tecla. Vallsamba has also recorded the «Vallsamba» CD and contributed to «Percussiócat», a release featuring Catalan batucada groups.
The group is a fit for town festivals, street celebrations, weddings, hotel events and private parties. Vallsamba also runs percussion teaching activities for people of different ages.
