Descanso Dominical recreates Mecano’s catalogue in a two-hour concert with a considered stage show and its own technical equipment.
Descanso Dominical is a live tribute to Mecano, revisiting songs by the band known for their success in the 1980s and 1990s. Alongside the music, the show uses a carefully planned stage presentation inspired by the group’s visual world.
The concert runs for two hours and includes sound and lighting, with the band bringing its technical equipment. The staging features wigs, make-up, costumes and props. The listed performers are Cristian Baquero, Chony Olivares, Jonathan Padilla, vocalist Belén Estrada and bassist Javier Callenv.
The repertoire includes “La fuerza del destino”, “Me colé en una fiesta”, “Hijo de la luna”, “Hoy no me puedo levantar”, “Mujer contra mujer”, “Barco a Venus”, “Maquillaje” and “Un año más”, among other tracks. It brings together songs audiences can sing along to and recognise.
The format can suit local fiestas, weddings, corporate functions and private celebrations looking for a tribute concert with a defined running time and a strong stage element.
