Montse Cortés brings flamenco singing shaped by tablao performances and collaborations with leading dancers and guitarists.
We are a booking agency for events, not the artist's team. We work with organisers: festivals, councils, companies, venues and weddings.
Montse Cortés is a Romani flamenco singer, born in Barcelona and raised in Sant Adrià de Besòs. She began performing in Barcelona’s tablaos, singing alongside dancers. After discovering her there, dancer Antonio Canales invited her to join his company, where she spent five years.
Her career spans live performance and solo recordings. In 2000 she released «Alabanza», her debut solo album, which received a Latin Grammy nomination. «La rosa blanca» followed in 2004. Songs associated with her repertoire include «Río de azúcar», «El último trago», «Hiere», «Ayer en hoy», «Un ole a tiempo» and «La rosa blanca».
Cortés has shared a stage with La Paquera de Jerez and sung for dancers including Sara Baras, Juan de Juan and Joaquín Cortés. She has also accompanied guitarist Paco de Lucía. These experiences connect her work with flamenco singing for dance as well as performance alongside guitar.
Her flamenco singing can suit flamenco programmes, town fiestas, private celebrations and corporate events seeking a rooted, live performance. For weddings, the format can be discussed in relation to the style of celebration.
