Azúcar Moreno is an internationally renowned Spanish female duo formed by sisters Encarna Salazar (10 January 1961) and Toñi Salazar (14 March 1963). Born in Badajoz and raised in Madrid, they come from a well-known Gypsy family of artists, also linked to the group Los Chunguitos.

They began performing alongside their brothers until in 1982 they caught the attention of a record label and launched their own career. Their international breakthrough came in 1990, when they represented Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest (Zagreb) with the legendary track “Bandido”, achieving a remarkable fifth place and becoming one of the most emblematic duos of Spanish pop.

In 1991, their album Mambo reached number one on the Latin Pop Albums chart, becoming a success in Japan and other countries and consolidating their international projection. Throughout their career they have collected major hits such as “Tus ojos bandidos”, “Hoy tengo ganas de ti”, “Sobreviviré”, “Bandido”, “Mambo”, “Tú quieres más” and “Ven devórame otra vez”, songs that are an essential part of their live repertoire.

After a break, in November 2013 they returned to the stage with a new album and tour. Since 2014 they have continued performing concerts and working on new musical projects, including recent tracks such as “Punto de partida”, “Pegaíto” and “Agarraíta a la vida”.
