A comedy duo blending musical parodies, sketches and comic dialogue.
Manolo and Paco García Lozano are the comedy duo known as Los Hermanos Calatrava. Their career began in Catalonia, where they first performed as a musical pair. Comedy became their calling after Paco’s hoarse voice made an audience laugh. They developed that moment into a distinctive style of musical parody, moving from local radio and television to national recognition.
Their show can draw on several strands of their work: comic versions of well-known songs, dialogue and sketches. Music provides the starting point, while the comic scenes bring variety to the performance. They have also appeared in comedy films, including Los Kalatrava contra el Imperio del Kárate and El E.T.E. y el Oto.
Song parody is central to their act. Their work includes an adaptation of David Bowie’s Space Oddity, as well as a piece pairing classical music with yawning. The humour comes from reworking familiar musical material.
The duo can be considered for local festivals, private celebrations and corporate events looking for comedy with a musical element. For weddings, ask about the format and how it might fit the occasion.
