Jordi Merca mixes stand-up, improvisation and character acting in a comedy show about growing up during Spain’s EGB school years.
We are a booking agency for events, not the artist's team. We work with organisers: festivals, councils, companies, venues and weddings.
Actor, stand-up comedian and event host, Jordi Merca performs a comedy show built around the school memories of people who grew up under Spain’s EGB system. His current show, “Yo sobreviví a la EGB”, looks back at an era stretching from Naranjito to Cobi, linking childhood memories with adult life.
The set finds humour in teachers, school subjects and the clothes some parents chose for their children. It also draws on the television series, music, lifestyles and characters of the period. Merca uses improvisation and character acting to shape the performance. His productions can also include music, projections or magic.
“Yo sobreviví a la EGB” may suit parties, private celebrations and corporate events looking for stand-up with a generational angle. Merca has more than ten years’ experience in stand-up comedy. He previously toured theatres and live music venues across Spain with “Malditos Hípsters”, and he also works as an event host.
