Book La Shica for music and dance events
La Shica, the stage name of Elsa Rovayo, creates a performance that brings flamenco together with pop, copla and dance. Her training spans flamenco, Spanish dance and classical ballet, while her work also draws on hip hop. This distinctive blend has earned her the description “coplera 2.0”.
Song and movement in one performance
She began her career as a dancer before moving into singing. Across three studio albums, she has explored different ways of interpreting Spanish song. “Esa” brings together Spanish classics and tributes to Mexican women artists; her repertoire includes songs such as “La bien pagá”, “Limosna de amores”, “La llorona” and “Tres veces te engañé”.
La Shica has collaborated with Jarabe de Palo, Jorge Drexler, Bebe, Rosendo and Rosario Flores. Her stage experience includes venues in Madrid, Barcelona, Seville and Paris.
For weddings, private celebrations and cultural programmes
The combination of music and dance can suit weddings, private celebrations and corporate events looking for a performance rooted in flamenco with contemporary influences. It can also fit cultural programmes focused on Spanish song.
