Joni Mecanto is a three-piece live act for celebrations where live music and audience participation are part of the occasion. The show pairs popular covers with an optional karaoke segment backed by the musicians.
The trio plays classic favourites and current hits, with sound equipment including speakers, amplifiers and microphones. For karaoke, guests can take the microphone while Joni Mecanto provides the live accompaniment. The listed line-up is Joni Mecanto, José and Carlos.
The group’s musical influences span rumba, boleros, pop, rock, reggae, mestizaje and ska. Joni Mecanto plays several instruments, including guitar, ukulele, bass and double bass. He has been part of hundreds of bands and has worked with artists including La Pegatina, El Junco and El Parrita.
The act can be considered for weddings, corporate parties, birthdays and anniversaries, as well as other events. A mix of danceable covers and karaoke offers an interactive set for a broad audience.
