Hevia blends Asturian bagpipes with other genres, alongside original music shaped by his distinctive electronic instrument.
We are a booking agency for events, not the artist's team. We work with organisers: festivals, councils, companies, venues and weddings.
Hevia, the stage name of José Ángel Hevia Velasco, is a bagpipe musician and an honorary member of the Academy of the Asturian Language. His music centres on Asturian bagpipes, which he blends with other genres to bring the instrument to audiences far beyond its traditional setting. He can suit public festivals, weddings, corporate functions and private events seeking music with Asturian roots and a contemporary approach.
With Alberto Arias and Miguel Dopico, Hevia developed the MIDI multi-timbral electronic bagpipe, an instrument that can play several notes at once. His 1998 album «Tierra de nadie» sold more than one million copies and was released worldwide. Titles associated with his repertoire include «Busindre Reel», «El garrotín», «Sobrepena» and «Tanzila».
