Grupo Adlibitum is a music and cultural association from Albatera, in Alicante province, specialising in festive music. The group was founded in 1999 by members of the local band, under the direction of Antonio Bailén. Since then, it has grown and performed at celebrations across the province.
Its young musicians have a strong musical background, with many having studied at conservatoires in Murcia, Elche, Orihuela, Alicante and Almoradí. The charanga brings a lively stage presentation, with costumes and a show designed to accompany different parts of a celebration.
The repertoire includes street parade music, band music, music for Moros y Cristianos celebrations and big band pieces. The group also takes part in humorous parades and processions. At one point in its history, the ensemble had as many as 27 musicians and performed around 120 times a year. In 2007, San Sebastián City Council selected the group to entertain visitors in the city's Old Town during Carnival.
