Rubén Sierra combines science, geek culture and stand-up, using projected drawings and audience interaction.
Fisicomic is Rubén Sierra’s show, bringing together stand-up comedy, scientific knowledge and geek culture. A physicist and electronic engineer as well as a professional science communicator, Rubén has more than ten years of stage experience. His material looks at familiar films and series through a scientific lens, adding curious facts and plenty of humour.
With a microphone and projected drawings, Rubén unpacks ideas from fiction in an accessible, lively format. Audience participation is part of the show, so guests can follow the references, enjoy the comic analysis and take away new talking points. Rubén can also host and animate galas, presentations and other events.
His work spans stand-up competitions, science communication and the Famelab scientific monologue competition. Through the collaborative project Garuna Effect, he has toured venues across Spain discussing the science behind manga, anime and video games. He has also worked at events with the University of the Basque Country and national pro-wrestling circuits.
The show can suit private celebrations, company events, cultural gatherings and parties looking for comedy with an educational angle. The technical setup requires a microphone, a projector or TV, and HDMI and JACK connections for Rubén’s computer.
