Ernesto Plaza’s 50-minute comedy show mixes social change, current affairs and impressions of Spanish-language singers.
Ernesto Plaza’s show De ayer a hoy runs for around 50 minutes. At its centre is an original monologue reflecting on how society has changed in recent years.
The performance weaves in observations on political and social events, along with impressions of well-known Spanish-language singers from different generations. The artists named include Sabina, Serrat, Pablo Alborán and Juan Luis Guerra. Its contemporary subject matter meets a style of comedy associated with the 1980s.
This monologue and impressions format can work at town fiestas, corporate events and private celebrations looking for a comedy set with a defined running time. It may also suit weddings that want to include a comic performance in the programme. Sound equipment is required.
