Empara Rosselló presents Fresones Salteados, a comic theatre piece of three monologues with voice and percussion, in Spanish or Catalan.
Fresones Salteados is a one-hour stage piece by Empara Rosselló, bringing together comedy, voice, movement and percussion. It can be performed in Spanish or Catalan and is adaptable to different audiences and venues, from theatres to galleries, house museums and outdoor settings.
The show combines three monologues with dance theatre and percussion. Empara can perform alone, or a guest musician can join, depending on the format. Percussion features in the performance and may also accompany the musical intervals.
Everyday situations and social themes shape the humour. “Sanciones, impuestos y embargos” is a pansori-inspired comic song about bureaucratic chaos. “Los médicos” pairs comic dance and grotesque costume with a monologue built from real-life stories. “Ser diferente” imagines a world of mutations and asks questions about existence.
The flexible format and choice of language suit cultural programmes and events looking for comic theatre with musical and physical elements. The lighting setup is standard for a proscenium stage; the show can also take place outdoors in daylight. For outdoor performances, sound equipment and microphones for the performer and musician are required.
