Author-led flamenco pop, pairing close-to-home lyrics with familiar songs for concerts and celebrations.
We are a booking agency for events, not the artist's team. We work with organisers: festivals, councils, companies, venues and weddings.
El Barrio is the stage name of Cádiz-born singer-songwriter José Luis Figuereo Franco. His music brings flamenco roots together with pop and rock influences, while his lyrics explore love, nostalgia, everyday life and neighbourhood identity. The result is a distinctive sound that has found a broad audience.
His career began with flamenco singing and performances in tablaos. Since the 1990s, he has released songs that have established him as a leading name in Spanish flamenco pop. His shows have filled major venues and stadiums in Spain. Songs associated with his repertoire include “Pa Madrid”, “Quiéreme”, “Orgullo”, “De lobo a cordero”, “He vuelto” and “Las costuras del alma”.
The performance pairs the character of flamenco singing with melodies and arrangements from contemporary styles. Poetic, accessible lyrics give the concert a strong songwriter feel, with familiar songs for audiences to share. El Barrio has built an extensive catalogue over more than two decades on stage.
He can be considered for local festivals, concerts, private celebrations and company events seeking an established flamenco pop artist. Weddings may also suit the show when guests enjoy flamenco and singer-songwriter music.
