Durban's five-piece Latin band mixes original songs and covers, bringing rumba, salsa, son and dance rhythms to receptions and parties.
«Que siga la juerga» is the live band project led by singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Iván Durban. The show pairs original Latin songs with covers, making it suitable for background music at a drinks reception or a livelier party set. Since 2008, Iván Durban has released several albums and toured in Spain.
The line-up features five musicians. Iván Durban sings and plays saxophone, guitar and Cuban tres; Paco López plays electric bass and double bass; Tito Torres is on drums and backing vocals; Marc Xena combines percussion and trumpet; and Nicola Rinaldo plays piano and keyboards. This range of instruments supports dancing, singalongs and stretches of improvisation.
The music draws on rumba, cha-cha-chá, son, montuno, salsa, mestizaje and pop. Original material sits alongside covers such as «Aguanilé», «El cuarto de Tula», «Demasiado corazón», «La playa», «I Like It Like That» and «Lágrimas negras».
The band can suit local celebrations, weddings, private parties and corporate events, from a relaxed drinks reception to a dance-focused set. The repertoire can be tailored to the occasion. The technical requirements include a stage or suitable performance space, power and sound equipment; additional lighting is arranged by the event organiser or a lighting company.
