Aurora Clara blend progressive rock, jazz fusion, flamenco and world music in a 90-minute live set.
Aurora Clara are an international band based in Madrid, formed in 2018. Their music brings together progressive rock, jazz fusion, flamenco and world music, making for a detailed sound with plenty of stylistic range.
The band perform a 90-minute set. Instrumental passages and improvisations from the three principal soloists add contrast to a distinctly rock-driven sound. Drummer Marco Anderson is a prominent presence throughout. The technical setup calls for a PA, at least three monitors, bass and guitar amplifiers, a keyboard stand, a drum kit without snare or cymbals, microphones for flute and drums, plus the necessary stands and cables.
Aurora Clara have released four albums, which have received praise from national and international press. Their fourth release, IV, moves towards a heavier rock sound than the organic, semi-acoustic approach of Dreams (2023). Their influences include John McLaughlin, Frank Zappa, Soft Machine, the Mahavishnu Orchestra, Indian music and flamenco.
Aurora Clara suit concerts and programmes looking for progressive rock, jazz rock and music that draws on flamenco and world music. If you are considering them for a party or private event, ask Vibra whether the format and technical setup fit your venue.
