Afrofeminist comedy combining stand-up, performance and reflections on racism and the rights of Black women.
We are a booking agency for events, not the artist's team. We work with organisers: festivals, councils, companies, venues and weddings.
Asaari Bibang is an Equatoguinean comedian, writer, actor and activist. Her work brings comedy together with a critical perspective on racism and the place of Black women in society and the arts. She suits events looking for a stand-up performance with a distinctive voice and social themes handled through humour.
She came to wider attention with «La negra batalla» in 2015, taking the show on tour across Spain. Her «Humor negra» performance also uses comedy to address the rights of Black women. Her credits include writing for El País and regular appearances on Comedy Central News, as well as «Los que faltaban» and «La Resistencia». As an actor, she has appeared in the films «Área de descanso» and «Evelyn», and in music videos by artists including Macaco.
Her set can work at celebrations, private functions and company events seeking comedy with social substance. It may also suit comedy seasons and cultural programmes. The performance combines personal perspective, social commentary and humour; ask which show and format best fit your event.
