As a solo performer, Txente sings and plays keyboards and guitars; in the duo format, he shares the stage with Luna Bálader. The repertoire features Spanish and international songs from the 1970s, 80s, 90s and 2000s through to the present day. Artists covered include ABBA, AC/DC, Antonio Flores, Miguel Ríos, Bon Jovi, Nacha Pop, La Oreja de Van Gogh, Fito y Fitipaldis, Hombres G, M-Clan, Rocío Dúrcal, Raphael, Seguridad Social and Queen. Some songs, including tracks by Adele, Bebe and Lady Gaga listed in the repertoire, are performed in the duo format only.
Txente Bálader is the stage name of Vicente Malo Otermin, a musician from Navarre. He studied solfège, piano, choir and harmony at a conservatoire, and joined a local pop rock group as keyboard player and backing vocalist in 2000. He launched his own project in 2002, initially performing with vocals, keyboards and guitars. After spending three years in Ecuador, he returned to his earlier rock repertoire, adding more songs in Spanish. He has also self-produced two albums of original material: Rock en el Alma and Cambios.
The solo or duo line-up can work for weddings, private parties, pubs and corporate events. The act supplies its own 3,000 W sound system and lighting for events of up to 300 people. Larger events need additional sound and lighting equipment. A 220 V power supply is required.
