A university tuna from Valencia performing familiar songs acoustically in a relaxed, sociable style.
Tuna de la Universidad UCH-CEU is a university group from Valencia, bringing familiar songs to weddings, baptisms, communions, family gatherings, marriage proposals and company events. Its informal format suits a balcony, restaurant, private home or party venue, with the musicians able to move among guests during a meal.
The group usually performs with five members, although the line-up can vary. They sing and play acoustically, without amplification or a power supply. With more than ten years of playing together, they read the room and shape the pace of the set, moving between slower songs and lively rumba rhythms.
The repertoire includes well-known titles such as «Clavelitos», «Compostelana», «Alma, corazón y vida», «Que nadie sepa mi sufrir», «Guantanamera» and «Las cintas de mi capa». Their influences also include trios, rancheras, light music and performers such as María Dolores Pradera, Rocío Dúrcal and Los Sabandeños. Guests can sing, whistle or hum along.
This is a good fit for celebrations where live music should bring guests together, from a wedding meal to a family gathering or musical surprise.
