Daniel Concuerda reworks Daft Punk with electric guitar, loops, effects and talkbox in a dance-ready solo show.
Tributo a Daft Punk is a solo performance by Daniel Concuerda, combining dance music with live electric guitar. He builds the show with loops and effects, including talkbox, to create his own take on the French duo’s sound. The format is suited to audiences who want to dance while watching the music take shape on guitar.
Effect-laden guitar sits at the heart of the set. Daniel works with a pedalboard, amplifier and monitor, alongside an 800 W RMS sound system. Electronic techniques meet hands-on guitar playing in this one-person show.
The set runs for around an hour and a half. It features Daft Punk tracks, alongside additional material by The Whitest Boy Alive, Kleer, Portishead and Stevie Wonder. The sound moves through French house and funk, with touches of indie funk, 1980s funk and dub reggae. Lee Scratch Perry and Peter Tosh are also among the stated influences.
