Todozancos blends stilts, circus, dance and physical theatre in visual shows for festivals, parades and events.
Todozancos is a theatre company specialising in performance on stilts. Its visual work brings together circus, dance, physical theatre, music and visual composition, in formats ranging from roaming parades to stage pieces and event entertainment. Founded in Barcelona in 2007, the company brings together artists with varied backgrounds and professional training.
Performances can draw on original creations or be developed for a particular event. The company works with fixed, spring-loaded and pneumatic stilts, and its performers can combine stilt work with acrobatics and object manipulation. Sound is generally provided; lighting requirements depend on the venue, and each production has its own technical sheet.
The company’s stage language draws on circus and theatre, with dance and movement at its heart. Its creations include Tuberías, Mediterraneus, Moon Light Jugglers and Artificios del Fuego. Members have performed in productions by Cirque du Soleil and Compagnie Malabar, including shows presented in Europe, Cape Verde and Singapore.
Todozancos can bring visual stilt performance to town festivals, street parades, family celebrations, corporate functions and private events. The company also runs stilt workshops for children and adults, as well as circus sessions in primary schools. The format is shaped around the performance and the space available.
