An acoustic soul duo with female vocals and guitar, performing genre classics and current songs in a two-hour set.
The Hashbrowns are an acoustic duo featuring a female singer and a guitarist. Their live set draws on soul, swing and jazz, with a pared-back sound suited to events where guests can enjoy the music and join in. The musicians have more than 15 years’ experience between them and came together in 2015 to perform their take on classic soul, swing and jazz.
The performance lasts two hours. Female vocals and guitar carry a selection of well-known songs alongside more recent material, with the set designed to get people dancing too.
Their influences include Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding, Ray Charles, Tina Turner, Marvin Gaye and Amy Winehouse. The repertoire also features songs associated with these artists and music from the 1950s, 60s and 70s.
The Hashbrowns can suit weddings, local festivals, private celebrations and corporate events looking for acoustic music with soul, swing or jazz roots. The listed setup includes two 15-inch, 900 W speakers and lighting with four spotlights and a mirror ball. The venue needs to allow direct vehicle access for unloading, provide a power supply and have a 3-by-2-metre stage area.
