Black light puppetry with music and movement, without dialogue, for audiences of different ages.
Teatrapa is a Canary Islands educational theatre company presenting a black light puppet show. With no spoken dialogue, the performance uses music, imagery and movement to tell its story, making it accessible to audiences of different ages and language backgrounds.
Puppets, flowers, animals, dancers, flags, musical notes, lettering, lights and colours emerge from the darkness in a sequence of visual scenes. The images leave room for each audience member to imagine their own story. The audiovisual performance is set to continuous classical music alongside popular passages.
The company has performed in Tenerife and other islands for 24 years. Its approach draws on the black theatre tradition of Prague and aims to introduce audiences to puppetry and music. The production was nominated for Best Children’s Show in the Canary Islands by the Asociación Réplica. It has appeared in theatres, auditoriums, schools, hotels, associations and NGOs.
It can be considered for family programmes, school activities, local festivals and cultural events looking for a visual performance that does not rely on language.
The fee depends on the date, venue, format and technical requirements. The show needs an enclosed room that can be darkened, sound amplification and lighting changes. Request a no-obligation quote, with a response within 24 hours.
