Sophie Circo blends stilts, dance, acrobatics and theatre in visual performances tailored to a range of events.
Sophie Circo offers a multidisciplinary stage act for organisers looking for striking visual entertainment rooted in circus and theatre. She has worked as an actor with international theatre companies since 2007 and has pursued circus performance since 2012. Her practice also spans contemporary dance, acrobatics and aerial work.
The act can be performed solo or developed as a joint piece with other artists. Depending on the brief, Sophie brings together acting, humour, movement and circus skills to create vivid characters and scenes. Her disciplines include stilt walking, fire swinging, aerial silks, vertical dance and hand balancing. Aerial acts require a minimum height of five metres. Technical requirements vary by service, and a dressing room may be needed.
Her work brings theatre, dance and circus into an imaginative stage setting. She has collaborated with Grupo Puja, an aerial theatre and dance company, as well as Cía Ayeklawn, Cía Teatro Atómico and the UCAM Dance Company. Alongside performing, she leads theatre and movement workshops and children’s circus activities.
The flexible formats can work for festivals, private celebrations and occasions that call for a live visual performance. A solo appearance or a collaborative piece can be selected to suit the venue and event.
