Copla in several formats, from a scripted live show to flamenco song arrangements with guitar.
Sergio Morcillo offers several ways to bring copla to an event. La Copla o La Vida is a chronological journey through the genre and its curiosities, presented with live music and a carefully scripted stage production.
For Sergio Morcillo, A Tu Vera, the show uses backing tracks. Guitarra y Son pairs copla with song arrangements across different flamenco styles. A six-piece line-up is also listed: Sergio on vocals, Alejandro Monroy on musical direction and piano, Manolo Toro on bass and arrangements, Paco Gz on drums, Sergio Bienzobas on saxophone, clarinet and flute, and Eunice on keyboards.
Sergio has sung copla since the age of fifteen and won the 14th edition of television programme A Tu Vera. His stage experience and fresh approach to the genre inform the shows.
The different productions can suit town fiestas, weddings and private events. Guitarra y Son is also offered for live music in venues and ferias rocieras. For the band set-up, the stage needs an easy-access staircase and a 63-amp three-phase power supply at stage level. Dressing rooms with a toilet and running water are required. Sound and lighting can be arranged.
