Quartet D'Star blends jazz, bossa nova, funk, pop and Latin rhythms in a lively live set.
Quartet D'Star brings together four musicians who have crossed paths in different line-ups and now join forces again. Their set starts with jazz and moves through bossa nova, funk, pop, fusion and Latin music. They shape each piece around the resources of the musicians, aiming for a fresh, dynamic performance that can appeal to a broad audience.
The repertoire draws on material from several genres, giving the performance room to shift in mood. The named players are Rubén Salamanca Safont on drums, Josep Casanova on keyboards and Alex Grau on saxophone; the act is presented as a quartet.
This jazz group can provide live music for weddings, private celebrations, company events and parties looking for an instrumental-led set with changes of pace. The mix of jazz, bossa nova, funk, pop and Latin sounds offers variety across different parts of an event.
