Improvised instrumental sessions blend live sounds, varied musical styles and nature-inspired soundscapes.
Q-koSound Ambient creates instrumental music and sound sessions in a range of settings, with a particular preference for natural outdoor spaces. The performance is built live using several instruments and sound and recording equipment. Each session is improvised and unique, shaped around the space and atmosphere of the occasion.
Instrumental passages can meet soundscapes that evoke the natural world. Depending on the mood, a session may feel relaxing, rhythmic or choral. Audience participation is also possible at times.
Sessions may draw on excerpts from classical music, pop, rock, jazz, blues, flamenco and ethnic styles. These elements sit alongside sounds created for the performance.
