PLATANICA are a four-piece Metallica tribute act, with a set devoted entirely to the band’s music.
We are a booking agency for events, not the artist's team. We work with organisers: festivals, councils, companies, venues and weddings.
PLATANICA are a tribute band focused entirely on Metallica. The project began in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in 2013, formed by the same four musicians behind PLATANOISE, and built its own show around the American band’s catalogue.
Jesús Mariño sings and plays guitar; Pedro Garrido provides backing vocals and guitar; Fran Carreras adds backing vocals and bass; and Jorge Cortadellas plays drums. For a performance at Teatro Guiniguada, the band were joined by the PARTICELLA string quartet on one song.
While PLATANOISE draws on a wider range of hard rock and heavy metal, PLATANICA’s repertoire consists solely of Metallica material. The band made its debut at Aqua Tribute Fest in Lanzarote and later appeared at Rock Tribute Festival in Gran Canaria, where the event drew around 2,500 people. They also took part in the Noche de Tributos programme in Gran Canaria.
