Pistol Packin' Mama brings 1950s rock and roll to town celebrations, openings and corporate events. The Madrid-based group pairs a period-inspired look with a live set of classics made for dancing.
The band features vocals, guitar, drums, bass and double bass, and saxophone. It brings its own instruments, amplifiers, drum kit and microphones, and needs at least two power sockets at the venue. Sound equipment can also be provided if required. Outfits and some song requests can be arranged for the occasion.
The set draws on songs by Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley, Eddie Cochran, The Beatles, Ritchie Valens and other artists. It includes «Hound Dog», «Great Balls of Fire», «Johnny B. Goode», «Jailhouse Rock» and «La Bamba», alongside songs by Loquillo and a Baseballs-style version of «Umbrella».
The group also performs cover concerts. Its background includes the release of the EPs «Moneymaker» and «Here We Go Again», appearances connected with Tommy Mel’s and Starbucks, concerts in Peru and a tour presenting its second album.
