Phanktom48 are a four-piece band whose live sound blends funk, rock and soul. Built around Héctor Reina’s compositions, the set combines retro-rooted Black music with contemporary touches, creating a groove-led concert made for sharing with an audience. An optional DJ set can follow the performance.
Héctor Reina sings and plays guitar and keyboards, Ricard Marzá plays guitar, Ángela Mariscal is on drums, and Iván González plays bass. The project began as a way to bring Reina’s retro electronic compositions to the stage, with links to breakbeat, electro and synthwave. The band later developed new material drawing on soul, funk, blaxploitation and rock.
Their influences include Motown, Northern Soul, ghetto funk, breakbeat and disco. The set features released original material as well as newer compositions. Named tracks include “Solo Humo”, “Voces Raídas”, “Big Bang”, “Mézclate”, “Estático Movimiento”, “Desastres” and “Walkin' in the sun”.
The band can be considered for weddings, town festivals, corporate events and private celebrations looking for a live group with a distinctive, dance-friendly sound. The optional DJ set gives organisers a way to carry on with music after the concert.
