Acoustic original songs, humour and audience interaction, with rumba, pop and a mix of other styles.
Book Ojos de Gamba for an intimate, interactive event
Ojos de Gamba is Israel Aparicio’s project. He usually performs solo, singing and playing guitar, with original songs and plenty of humour. Introductions to the songs can turn into improvised comic monologues, making the audience part of the evening as well as listeners.
The acoustic arrangement gives careful attention to musical detail. If the event calls for it, accompanying musicians can join; the line-up and technical requirements vary with the venue and format, from a simple guitar-and-voice set-up to the needs of a full band. The set centres on original material, with familiar musical references woven between songs. Covers can also be included, particularly Spanish-language music.
Sound and suitable occasions
Rumba and pop are prominent, alongside touches of bossa nova, folk, reggae, ska, rock and swing. The close, conversational performance can suit café theatres and venues where performers can interact easily with the audience, as well as other events looking for live music with comedy.
