Notas Falsas is a flute and classical guitar duo, reworking music from jazz and pop to heavy metal and classical.
Notas Falsas is a duo featuring Conchi Vacas on flute and Alex Marrupe on classical guitar. Their instrumental music suits a range of occasions, from private celebrations to cultural events. The acoustic setup works in small and medium-sized venues; for larger spaces, the duo can be amplified with a PA system and monitors.
Their arrangements span jazz, pop, heavy metal, classical music, bossa nova and tango. The set includes pieces such as “Over the Rainbow”, “Moon River”, “Can I Play with Madness?”, “Sweet Child O’ Mine”, “Invierno”, “Summertime”, “Pé de Moleque”, “Beat It”, “Libertango” and “Black Orpheus”. They also offer a refined, distinctive musical presentation, with arrangements prepared on request for the occasion.
Alex Marrupe plays classical and electric guitar and has composed music for audiovisual media and pop and rock line-ups. Conchi Vacas is a flautist and music educator. In 2018, the duo performed Marrupe’s composition “Música para una imagen soñada” at the International Composers Festival in Hastings. Their releases include the singles “InVersión” and “InVersión 2”, and the EP “Heavy Metal Classics”, featuring arrangements of rock classics. Their work also involves courses, concerts and events at institutions, as well as performances with volunteers from Fundación Alicia y Guillermo.
