Solo electric guitar and original instrumental music spanning progressive rock, jazz, bossa nova, country and atmospheric sounds.
Narvantura is a solo electric guitar project led by a Granada-born guitarist based in Huelva. The live set focuses on original instrumental pieces and can be performed solo or with drummer jpeterson.
Electric guitar is played over recorded backing featuring bass, drums and sequences. Progressive rock provides the starting point, with jazz, bossa nova, country and gentler atmospheric passages also in the mix. The original compositions average around three and a half minutes, keeping the set moving from one idea to the next.
The repertoire ranges from funk-rock and pop-rock to ballads, jazz fusion, bossa nova and progressive rock. The guitarist cites Andy Timmons, Carlos Santana, Mark Knopfler and Pat Metheny among his influences. His equipment includes an Ibanez Jem FP guitar and a Yamaha multi-effects pedalboard, with a Marshall 8080 combo available if the venue has no monitors.
