A voice, six-string bass and cajón duo offering distinctive takes on soul, pop and rock classics.
Moûsa is a compact live music duo built around an individual approach to familiar songs. Voice, six-string bass and cajón create a distinctive sound suited to different parts of a celebration, from a reception to a private party.
The six-string bass brings together guitar-like and bass parts, while the cajón moves through flamenco, bossa nova and rock rhythms. The singer shifts between powerful delivery and more intimate melodies. Rather than recreating the original recordings, Moûsa gives each song its own interpretation.
The set includes songs associated with Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Cyndi Lauper, Aretha Franklin, Eric Clapton and the Bee Gees, alongside other choices. Its influences span pop, soul, rock, flamenco and bossa nova.
