A guitar-and-vocal duo performing jazz, blues, swing and international pop alongside original songs in their own style.
Based in Valladolid, Me & Mr.Kite are a duo featuring May Oporto on vocals and guitar and Luis de Castro on guitar. Their live set pairs an elegant feel with lively playing, and can be adapted to different kinds of occasion.
Performances can run from 60 to 120 minutes. The duo bring their own sound setup, including an eight-channel mixer and two 1,300-watt PA systems, plus a tower with five LED lights. They require a 220 V power supply and a performance area measuring at least 3 x 2 metres.
The set spans jazz standards, blues, swing, rhythm and blues, international pop covers and original songs. Their influences include Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Etta James, Amy Winehouse and Janis Joplin, as well as blues and pop artists from the 1930s to the present day.
Their compact line-up and adaptable repertoire make them a natural fit for weddings, private celebrations and corporate events looking for live music. The mix of familiar songs and a distinctive approach can provide a relaxed backdrop or lift the energy of the occasion.
