Mayjazz gives Brazilian popular music a jazz-inflected sound, performing as a quartet or as a voice-and-piano duo.
Mayjazz brings a jazz perspective to Brazilian popular music, shaping the songs with a warm sound and fresh musical colour. The performance centres on expressive playing, vitality and depth, without being tied to passing trends.
The quartet features voice, piano, double bass and drums. For a more intimate setup, Mayjazz can also perform as a voice-and-piano duo. The two options make it possible to choose a format that suits the atmosphere and setting of the event.
The blend of jazz and Brazilian popular music can complement weddings, private celebrations and corporate events looking for live music with a warm, distinctive character. The duo offers a more pared-back sound, while the quartet brings together four musicians for a fuller arrangement.
