Mario Herrero performs flamenco guitar solo or with singers, dancers and instrumentalists, as well as Spanish classical music.
Mario Herrero is a flamenco guitarist available as a solo performer or in a line-up with singing, dancing and other instruments. The format can centre on the guitar or bring several performers together, depending on the feel of the occasion.
His solo repertoire includes traditional guitar works associated with Sabicas, Paco de Lucía and Manolo Sanlúcar. He can also play Spanish classical music, including pieces by Falla and works such as Recuerdos de la Alhambra. A flamenco line-up with singers or dancers can feature alegrías, soleá and bulerías.
Mario has played in flamenco groups and ensembles covering medieval music, Spanish classical music, pop and jazz. This experience informs his work across different line-ups, and he is open to repertoire requests. He learned mainly from his father, Oscar Herrero, and also studied accompaniment for singing and dance with teachers in Madrid and Seville.
His guitar can add live flamenco or Spanish classical music to weddings, private celebrations and corporate events. Mario is based in San Lorenzo de El Escorial, Madrid, and can travel.
