Los Guateques de Rony Lomas recreate the feel of a Spanish guateque with a concert devoted to Spanish pop from the 1960s and 70s. Frontman Rony Lomas sings and plays guitar, leading the show with humour and stage presence while the band gets the audience singing and dancing.
The set features songs associated with Los Brincos, Los Sírex, Fórmula V, Dúo Dinámico, Los Mustang, Los Bravos, Los Salvajes and Los Mitos, alongside tributes to Raphael, Marisol and Luis Aguilé. It also includes Spanish-language versions of era-defining rock ’n’ roll, including material made popular by Los Llopis and Mexican groups. The show also features «El tío calambres».
The listed line-up is Rony Lomas on lead vocals and guitar, El Chico Yé-Yé on lead guitar, David Abadía on drums and Xavier Fernàndez on bass. The concert runs for more than two hours. The band has spent ten years entertaining events with this tribute and has performed together since 2013.
