La Plazuela is a Granada duo made up of Manuel Hidalgo Sierra, known as “El Indio”, and Luis Abril Martín, “El Nitro”. Their sound draws on Andalusian popular culture, particularly Granada’s, and blends flamenco with electronic music and nu-funk.
The project grew out of a friendship and shared sessions playing covers by artists they admired, including Manzanita, Los Chichos and Pata Negra. The name came from El Nitro’s storage room, which he called “La Plazuela Techá”. After releasing their first EP in 2019, they shortened the name to La Plazuela.
The duo released their debut album, Roneo Fun Club, in 2023. Tracks include “Peíname Juana”, “La primerica helá” and “El lao de la pena”. The set draws on flamenco references, framed by electronic production and nu-funk.
