Jazz and blues trio featuring vocals and drums, guitar, and electric double bass or bass guitar.
JB Try-O are a jazz and blues trio featuring Laura Cubí, Bogdan Pawlak and Ricky Casadó. The line-up brings together vocals and drums, guitar, and electric double bass, with electric bass guitar used to shape the mood.
Laura Cubí sings while playing the drums, an unusual combination. Bogdan Pawlak’s guitar moves between rhythmic backing and melodic passages, while Ricky Casadó switches between electric double bass and bass guitar. Their set can shift from intimate, restrained moments to darker blues and more danceable soul and rock sections.
The repertoire brings together blues favourites, jazz standards and original compositions. Songs include “Georgia”, “My Mama Done Told Me”, “Blues in the Night”, “Autumn Leaves”, “You Don’t Know” and “Cry Me a River”. Their influences include Ray Charles, Billie Holiday, Amy Winehouse, Melody Gardot, Paul Simon and Katie Melua.
JB Try-O suit weddings, parties and special occasions looking for live music with an unusual line-up and a changing mix of jazz, blues, soul and rock. They require a power socket.
